Susan
Lasch Krevitt is an artist with a passion for color and texture. Working with
repurposed wool, silk, and cotton, she explores the intuitive revelation of
cloth as object. Her sensuous surfaces beg to be touched and come to life through
the curious combining of dissimilar materials and processes.
The current series explores the translucent and rigid qualities of encaustic
(pigmented wax) as a catalyst to expand the boundaries of fiber. Encaustic
allows her to capture and retain the uniquely fluid qualities of fiber and
build outward with increased dimensionality.
Susan Lasch Krevitt has a BFA
from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work is held in private
collection, and has been seen in national and international exhibits. She currently
maintains a studio in Southern California.
