HEASOON ARZBERGER-RHEE
contact Heasoon

Heasoon Arzberger Rhee is from Seoul, Korea. While she worked as a textile chemist for a research institute, chemical company and museum conservation, she had a craving for creativity with yarns. Weaving started it. She admits that weaving is very time consuming process. She enjoys every step— transforms inspiration to weaving pattern, selecting colors, and proper technique, dyeing yarns and actual weaving.

Her works are one of kind and little personal pieces of herself that she sends out into the world. Viewers are initially drawn in by choice of colors then surprised by design.
Serenity and simplicity are her primary goals. These goals unconsciously came from her oriental background. Recently she discovered Korean knotting—Mae Dup. She is working on combining these two traditions to bring joy and pleasure to everyone. She currently lives and works in Grater Washington DC.
